"Dark Seas" got its name from a situation that all surfers have experienced. On those days when the waves are just at your limit of size and power, there are bound to be a few that come in by surprise and get you right on the head.
It could be the one that breaks just in front of you and you can't get under in time, or it could be the one that just holds you in the lip as it detonates over onto itself.
This is the moment you learn the meaning of "Dark Seas..." It's a scary moment when you realize you are powerless in the arms of the ocean and her energy. First you feel weightless as the power of the water takes you down. That feeling only lasts a second and then it's a violent explosion, followed by churning and crashing deeper down until the bubbles in the water and the depth drown out the light from above.
You may have the sense of how deep you are or you may not. You may start to swim down, thinking it's up. You may have the guts to open your eyes and if you do, its dark...scary dark.
You will have that moment to yourself and it seems to last longer than it does before survival instincts kick in and you begin your ascent to the waterline.
This is the lesson. She is more powerful than us and not afraid to remind us of that fact.
Darks Seas is a reminder on your wrist of the fact that we are just a part of the ecosystem and it should not only be respected, it should be supported. Using fishing nets pulled from the sea that would otherwise be threatening marine life, we developed a custom "terrazzo" material using a jewelry grade bio epoxy and a bit of good ole' surfboard technology.
The results is a stable, luxurious compound that resemble sea glass...so that's what what we called it.
"SeaGlass" is our offering to keep the balance...get materials out of the sea and turn them into new, unexpected materials that give their products a story to share.
A surprisingly light and agile watch with additional carbon fiber details in the bezel and the links, Dark Seas is a go to for stealthier aquatic activities.
